The cedar posts were harvested from the surrounding woods and the 20 foot poles sunk four feet into the earth using a post hole digger. Levi and Christie were digging and planting 6 poles a day until Brennen and Tobias helped finish the last 6 poles in 3 hours. A testament to teamwork.

The hop yard continues to be a labor of love and as the years have passed it has come to symbolize connective, shared labor and the building of community. Each August our Vermont and Alaskan families come together for our annual hop harvest. Hand picking our hops gives time for conversation and beer appreciation.

North Hero Hops are used in each of the Kraemer & Kin brews. Sometimes exclusively, other times along side other commercially grown hops.

Varieties grown - Nugget, Cascade, Centennial, Willamette, Comet, Perle.
